2024- State Police Association of Massachusetts vs. The State of Massachusetts

Union members have long enjoyed strong due process rights in their collective bargaining agreement when it comes to being interviewed by the Department for virtually any reason. The State tried to get around these rights by creating a new internal interviewing entity, the Investigations Center of Expertise (COE), which was found to be in violation of the agreement by the Arbitrator. This is one in a long line of cases that the Union has pending, which goes to the core issue of protecting its members rights and upholding the collective bargaining agreement.
